A Day in the Life
What are three things you love and three things you find challenging or frustrating about your work?
Love:
1.  Learning through teaching
2.  Being loud at demonstrations
3.  Participating in a movement

Challenging or frustrating:
1.  Long hours and low pay
2.  Managing stress
3.  Maintaining my passions

What is the most important task on your desk right now?
I just returned from vacation. Cleaning my desk to unearth the urgent things is the most important task right now.

What drives you to do this work? What makes you want to get out of bed every morning?
I am most driven by a desire to use my own privilege and power to fight for fairness and justice; by the ways in which issues are connected; by the idea that injustice and oppression affects us all.

How often do you "dress up" for work? Describe the culture of your organization.
I only dress up when I have to give a presentation or go to a meeting where everyone is going to be older than me. The culture of my work place is friendly, open, hectic, and loud! Working long hours is sometimes valued over taking care of yourself.

In a typical month, about what percentage of your time is spent on the following activities?
Talking on the phone 10%
Dealing with email 20%
Meetings with individuals 25%
Meetings with groups/committees 20%
Traveling 10%
Writing 10%
Reading 2%
(i wish it could be more!)
Researching 2%

(Note: respondents could allow their answers to add up to be more than 100%)

What do you do when you are feeling burned out at work?
Exercise, talk to friends, take time off
